Here’s a heads up on a customised and ‘fan-gated’ Facebook Tab completed this morning for Damson Homes’ Facebook Page.

Damson Homes are builders of new homes in the West Midlands. You can take a look at their new facebook tab here.

What’s a Facebook Page Fan Gate?

A ‘fan gated’ landing tab on a Facebook Page shows different content for fans and non-fans.

In other words, when a ‘non-fan’ clicks the ‘like’ button, completely new content is revealed as a little ‘reward’ for doing so. The biggest advantage of this method is it can substantially increase your conversion of browsers to ‘fans’ by as much as 50% (this obviously can have a huge impact on your FBAds budget too!).

How is this Done?

In simple terms a viewer is offered an incetive to click ‘like’ (access to a download, sample, consultation, etc). Once they click ‘Like’ they get their prize!

This is what we’ve cranked out for Damson this morning…

Damson normally offer the brochures to their new homes in return for subscribing to their mailing list (works well). Further to this, we’re looking to push big on Facebook this year so are looking to do something similar with this landing tab. (take a look ↓ ).

Before and After…

In short, a viewer clicks ‘like’ to reveal the ‘fan only’ content and the download button. We’ve also added a sign-up box for their newsletter here too. This would have been too much for a ‘non-fan’ but should be fine for someone who’s just clicked ‘like’. Fingers crossed! Let’s see how it goes!

A reward for reading this!!

We’re looking to expand our awesomeness into Facebook this year – this includes customised ‘fan-gated’ landing tabs for pages and customised timeline covers and profile pics for profiles. Before we launch, we want to compile a bit of a portfolio. So… If you’re looking to make some money out of Facebook this year, drop us a line, and we’ll cut a deal in return for any work being used for our marketing purposes, etc. Thanks :)
